Cast your minds back to February 2020 when Covid-19 was just a twinkle and remember how you celebrated Valentine’s Day. Well, this year it’s obviously going to be somewhat different.  All is not lost, however. There are many restaurants across London offering meal kits delivered to your door for you to cook yourself.  Well, it’s better than nothing…

Well that all feels like a very long time ago now but anyway…

UPDATE FOR 2025!

Back in 2021 Provisions was offering a delivery fondue kit for your romantic evening but seems not to be doing that this year. Also, they now have a new shop on Hackney Road (the original being on Holloway Road).  They are once again offering a Valentine’s Selection and you can order gorgeous flowers from Grace & Thorn, a nice bottle of something, exquisite cheeses and lots of other treats. They have loads of great stuff here  Provisions London. Their Holloway Road branch turns into a Pintxo bar called Topa by night (open from Wednesday to Saturday).

 

UPDATE FOR 2025!

Wright Brothers

Alas, their restaurant in Spitalfields has now closed but you can still visit them in Borough, Battersea or South Kensington. They have an ‘order in’ Valentine’s offer this year with some things on special offer (half price Coquilles St Jacques for example) so it shouldn’t break the bank. Here they are Wright Brothers

Since 2021, there have been some welcome additions to the London food and drink scene.

One such is The Ambassadors Clubhouse, tucked away at the bottom of Heddon Street, London W1. They have a delicious looking Valentine’s menu for this year. The dining room there is gorgeous and so are the staff.

Sune is a fairly new restaurant in East London. They don’t seem to be offering a Valentine’s Day menu this year but don’t let that put you off. The food and wine are top notch and you’ll get a warm welcome. Before heading to Sune, you could kick off the proceedings with a cocktail at the brilliant Apple Mac repair shop by day, cocktail bar by night, The Natural Philosopher.  They serve some unusual (but delicious) cocktails along with all the classics. It’s a lot of fun and very romantic.
